PITTSBURGH , April 17 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Pittsburgh-based L.B. Foster Company (Nasdaq: FSTR) has received a $5.0 million contract to supply approximately 72,000 direct fixation fasteners for the Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) expansion of their Northwest and Southeast light rail lines.

According to company President and CEO Stan Hasselbusch, "The project with DART involved the development of innovative bonded direct fixation fasteners, the first of their type in the industry. These fasteners incorporate acaptive Pandrol(R) Fastclip system, reducing overall installation and maintenance costs."

In addition to the fasteners, L.B. Foster will supply nearly 1000 special high resilient egg style direct fixation fasteners that mitigate ground borne noise and vibrations along sensitive locations of the new lines.
